The National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) announces the release of collectible coins FIFA WORLD CUP 2026 from the series "Sports". The date of the start of sales will be published on the official website of the NBK.
About the Collectible Coins
The collectible coins FIFA WORLD CUP 2026 were created in collaboration with the German numismatic company MDM Münzhandelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG Deutsche Münze (MDM), which holds the official FIFA license for the release of coins dedicated to the 2026 World Cup. This tournament will be the 23rd in history and will be held simultaneously in three countries, with the number of participating teams in the final stage increasing to 48 national teams.
On the obverse of the coin, there is an image of the flags of Canada, the USA, and Mexico—the host countries of the tournament. In the center, there is a globe with continents and the inscription "FIFA WORLD CUP 26 TM". At the bottom, the FIFA World Cup trophy is placed, and silhouettes of football players are featured against the outlines of a football.
The coins are made of 925 sterling silver using color printing technology and gold plating. The coin weighs 20 grams and has a diameter of 37 mm. The quality of manufacturing is proof, and the nominal value is 1,000 tenge. The total mintage is 2,000 pieces: 1,500 are intended for the domestic market of Kazakhstan, and 500 for the external market (in partnership with MDM).
The coins are accepted at their face value throughout the Republic of Kazakhstan for all types of payments, including banking deposits, transfers, change, and exchanges.
The coins are produced at the Kazakhstan Mint.
