The collectible coin “Homeland of Apples” is dedicated to Kazakhstan as one of the historical centers of the origin of the apple tree. The issue is linked to scientific conclusions that the wild Sievers apple tree, which grows in the Zailiyskiy Alatau area, became the ancestor of many modern cultivated varieties. The coin features the image of a fruit-bearing apple tree associated with the country’s nature and mountainous landscape. One side bears the name of the state, the 500 tenge denomination, and the logo of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The other side repeats the image of the tree, complemented by gilded apples, and also includes the coin’s title, metal specifications, and the series name "HERITAGE OF THE REPUBLIC - KAZAKHSTAN." The coin is made of 925 sterling silver and weighs 31.10 g. The design combines frosted and mirror-like surfaces, as well as gilding on selected elements, which emphasizes the artistic concept of the issue.
