The commemorative coin is dedicated to Jochi Khan, the eldest son of Genghis Khan and the founder of the Ulus of Jochi, better known in history as the Golden Horde. His name is associated with an important stage in the formation of the political landscape of the Great Steppe. The mausoleum of Jochi Khan, located in the present-day Ulytau Region, is considered a significant historical and cultural monument of Kazakhstan and one of the well-known testimonies to the region’s medieval history. The design features the image of the monument to Jochi Khan created by the Kazakh sculptor and monumental artist Gaziz Yeshkenov. The reverse is complemented by an artistic collage of coins from the Golden Horde period, emphasizing historical continuity and the symbolic connection with the heritage of steppe statehood. The coin has a face value of 1,000 tenge, is made of .925 silver, and weighs 31.10 g.
