Commemorative coin dedicated to Jochi Khan, the eldest son of Genghis Khan and the founder of the Ulus of Jochi, known in history as the Golden Horde. His name is associated with an important stage in the formation of the political landscape of the Great Steppe, and his memory holds a special place in the historical and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan. In the Ulytau Region stands the mausoleum of Jochi Khan, regarded as a significant monument of medieval history and one of the country’s well-known sacred sites. The design features the image of the monument to Jochi Khan created by the Kazakh sculptor and monumental artist Gaziz Yeshkenov. The other side presents a composition with images of coins from the Golden Horde period, emphasizing the issue’s connection with the history of the state and the monetary circulation of that time. The coin has a face value of 2,000 tenge, is struck in .925 silver, and weighs 311 grams.
