The 500 ₸ silver coin of Kazakhstan, Altai Snowcock, is dedicated to one of the characteristic birds of the high-mountain regions of the Altai. This species is known as an inhabitant of harsh rocky slopes, well adapted to life in conditions of sharp temperature changes and thin mountain air. The issue continues the theme of preserving and promoting the country’s fauna, drawing attention to Kazakhstan’s natural wealth and the importance of rare mountain ecosystems. The coin is struck in .925 silver and weighs 24.00 g. It is of interest as a commemorative issue connected with the animal world and reflects the aspiration of Kazakhstan’s national numismatics to convey, through artistic imagery, the distinctive features of nature and a cultural commitment to its protection.
