The SYǴANAQ Coin Dedicated to Syganak
SYǴANAQ is a commemorative coin dedicated to Syganak, one of the largest medieval cities of the Great Steppe in the territory of present-day Kazakhstan.
In the 13th to 15th centuries, Syganak was an important center of trade, crafts, and culture along the routes of the Great Silk Road. The city held a prominent place in the development of medieval urban culture in the steppe region.
Today, the Syganak settlement is one of Kazakhstan’s important archaeological monuments and stands as evidence of the development of medieval urban culture in the Great Steppe.
