CULTURAL ANIMALS - TOTEMS OF NOMADS
The series of coins "Cultural Animals - Totems of Nomads" is dedicated to the study of totem animals and their significance in Turkic views of nature. Totems embody the spirits of clans or tribes and symbolize their ancestors and guardians. Historical sources indicate that some Turkic leaders may have descended from legendary ancestors with totemic animals. A special place among them is occupied by the wolf, which is considered a key symbol of the Turks' success in military affairs. The coins of the series stand out with their unique design approach, combining graphic and stencil technologies, depicting animals and allegorical images in 'Saka-animal style'. One of the design elements is a gilded mask, rich in mystical symbols.
