AIU “Bear” is a commemorative coin of Kazakhstan with a face value of 200 tenge, struck in cupronickel and weighing 11.17 g. It is the seventh issue in the “Cult Animals – Totems of Nomads” series, dedicated to figures that held an important place in the worldview of the steppe peoples. The coin’s design combines two artistic approaches: a realistic depiction of the animal and a stylized image inspired by Saka art. This concept highlights the connection between ancient traditions and a modern interpretation of national symbols. In this issue, the image of the bear is presented as a symbol of strength, endurance, and inner resilience. At the same time, it is associated with closeness to nature and respect for its power, making the coin a striking continuation of the series.
