The official rate is the same throughout Kazakhstan. Banks and exchange offices set their own cash buying and selling rates.
“Buying RUB” means the exchange office buys your rubles and gives you tenge. “Selling RUB” means you pay tenge to receive rubles.
If you are selling rubles, multiply your ruble amount by the office’s buying rate. If you are buying rubles with tenge, divide your tenge amount by its selling rate. Ask whether any fees apply to the final amount.
