The 500 ₸ silver proof coin, weighing 31.10 g, is dedicated to the image of the argali, one of the most expressive motifs in the ancient art of the nomads. Its design features the animal in a swift, almost flying gallop. The composition is based on a gold artifact discovered during archaeological excavations at the settlement of Zhalauly in the Kegen District of the Almaty Region. This find dates back to the 8th–7th centuries BC and reflects the characteristic features of the early steppe animal style, in which movement, strength, and plasticity were conveyed with particular vividness. Struck in .925 silver, the coin continues the theme of the artistic heritage of the ancient nomads of Kazakhstan and expresses the connection between modern numismatics and the monuments of the Saka period. The image of the argali emphasizes the importance of archaeological discoveries that help preserve and reinterpret the cultural symbols of the past.
