The 500 ₸ commemorative coin of Kazakhstan is struck in sterling silver (Ag 925) and weighs 31.10 g. Its theme is connected with one of the most striking archaeological monuments of the early history of steppe culture. The design is based on the image of a gold ring discovered during excavations of the Issyk burial mound in the Almaty Region. This find dates back to the 4th–3rd centuries BC and is of great importance as evidence of the high level of jewelry craftsmanship achieved by ancient masters. Referring to such an object highlights the connection between modern numismatics and the historical heritage of Kazakhstan, while also recalling the richness of archaeological discoveries made in the country. The coin conveys the value of this ancient artifact and its place in cultural memory.
