ORIENTAL CALENDAR - KAZAKHSTAN
This series showcases a unique design where the coin features zodiac signs arranged in a clockwise motion. The obverse displays mythological symbols representing the celestial constellations alongside a stylized sun. The reverse includes the symbol for the current year in the Chinese zodiac, surrounded by the other eleven zodiac signs. This dodecahedral coin illustrates the annual shift of the symbolic year image from the inner edge to the center, with a small plate indicating the year of minting while rotating in a 12-year cycle. The calender symbols are crafted in relief, enriched with representations of Eurasian cosmology.
