The collectible coin “Year of the Tiger” was issued in Kazakhstan in 2021 as part of the “Oriental Calendar” series and is dedicated to the symbol of the year 2022 according to the Eastern calendar. Its design incorporates motifs from the architectural elements of the “Oriental Calendar” fountain in Almaty, created with the participation of artists V. Tverdokhlebov, A. Tatarinov, and V. Katsev. The obverse features mythological signs of the constellations from a celestial star map, as well as inscriptions indicating the metal, fineness, and weight. Around the edge are the country’s name in Kazakh and English, a stylized image of the sun, and the denomination of 500 ₸. The reverse shows a tiger in the center, surrounded by the year, the name of the series, and the other eleven symbols of the Eastern calendar. The coin is made of .9999 gold and weighs 7.78 g.
