The 50 ₸ coin, struck in 9999 fine gold and weighing 0.50 g, is dedicated to the image of the “Feline Predator with Deer,” known from finds discovered in the Berel burial mounds in eastern Kazakhstan. The composition is based on an ancient artistic object unearthed during archaeological excavations near the village of Berel. This site is regarded as one of the country’s most important archaeological complexes. More than thirty burial mounds arranged in chains have been identified there, and the discoveries provide valuable insight into the culture and symbolism of the ancient nomads. The Berel burial mounds became widely known for their rich funerary inventory, which included objects made of gold and bronze, depictions of fantastic birds and animals, and examples of fine plastic art. The scene featuring a predator and deer reflects the characteristic features of the ancient animal style and emphasizes the coin’s connection with the outstanding heritage of Kazakhstan’s early cultures. The coin has a diameter of 11.00 mm and is struck in proof quality.
