The commemorative coin of Kazakhstan, “Scorpio,” continues the “Zodiac Signs” series and is executed in the distinctive artistic style characteristic of the issue, inspired by motifs of rock art. The composition combines traditional symbols with modern minting technology, making the zodiac sign’s image expressive and easily recognizable. The series uses the idea of matching the color scheme to the element of each sign, emphasizing the individuality of every release. The coin has a face value of 100 tenge and is made of .925 silver with a tantalum insert; its total weight is 25.00 grams. One side features the name of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the zodiac signs, and a stylized sun, while the other side shows the constellation Scorpio, its conventional symbol, and its name. A distinctive feature of the issue is its octagonal shape, which sets the coin apart from traditional round pieces and makes it stand out in a collection.
