The commemorative coin of Kazakhstan, “Virgo,” continues the series dedicated to the signs of the zodiac. Its artistic design is based on imagery reminiscent of ancient rock art, giving the issue a distinctive character. The coin features a tantalum insert with color-shifting technology, and the chosen shade is associated with the element of the sign. It is struck in .925 silver with tantalum, has a face value of 100 tenge, and weighs 25.00 g in total.
The obverse bears the name of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, zodiac symbols, and a stylized sun with color printing. The reverse depicts the zodiac constellation Virgo, its conventional symbol, and its name. A distinctive feature of this issue is its octagonal shape, which is rarely seen in modern minting and emphasizes the coin’s collectible character.
