The 50 ₸ commemorative coin “Shymkent” is dedicated to one of the oldest and most significant cities of Kazakhstan. In the center of the reverse is the coat of arms of Shymkent, emphasizing the city’s historical and cultural identity. Along the circumference runs the inscription “QAZAQSTAN RESPUBLIKASY” in the state language. The minting year, 2015, is also shown here, with the inscription and the date separated by dots. The composition is completed by a raised rim, giving the design a finished and formal appearance. The coin is made of neizilber (nickel silver), weighs 4.71 g, and has a diameter of 23.00 mm. This issue continues the series devoted to the architectural and historical monuments of Kazakhstan and reflects attention to the cities that played an important role in the country’s history.
