The Taldykorgan coin was issued in 2013 as part of a series dedicated to the architectural and historical monuments of Kazakhstan. It is the eighth release in the thematic direction associated with the cities of the country. At the center of the reverse is the coat of arms of Taldykorgan, emphasizing the city’s administrative and cultural importance. Around the edge is the inscription “QAZAQSTAN RESPUBLIKASY,” along with the year of minting; the design elements are separated by dots and framed by a raised rim. The design is executed in a restrained and recognizable style characteristic of commemorative issues of the National Bank of Kazakhstan. The coin has a face value of 50 tenge, is made of nickel silver, and weighs 4.71 g.
